When on your Georgia vacation you may want to swing by Gainesville and stop in at the Beulah Rucker Museum and Education Center. Here you will learn about the devotion and dedication of one woman to educate the African-American children in the early 1900’s when there weren’t many schools that they could attend.

She established a school for African-American children the served the students in various forms until the late 1950’s. She paid for most of the educational expenses with her own hard work and money.

The mission of the museum is to keep reminding students of the importance of education and civic involvement. The school even provided educational opportunities to the soldiers returning from WWII.
