Obtaining Information About Manchester Described In Short February 4, 2012
Posted by janey in : travel general , comments closedI am due to spend a week in Manchester in about three weeks time. I am going there on a boring business trip - these are things that I would rather did not exist. This article will be describing my quest to obtain some of the local information that I was interesed in, such as finding out about whats on Manchester, the best cheap hotels, the local theatres, the museums and eating out Manchester.
My first port of call was my father who has seemingly been to every city on the planet. Yes this is, of course, going somewhat over the top, however every time I tell him that I am about to visit Madrid, for example, he replies with “I have been there”. And yes he had been to Manchester as well! The main problem being that it was so long ago that he was quite sure that the information that I was after, with regards hotels and restaurants and the like, would not be relevant from back then.
It was then the turn of my friends to be hassled but they were rather clueless in truth. This is when I decided to go online. In truth surfing the world wide web should have been my first port of call as it just provides me with so much info. I really think that I would now be rather lost without it - without that amazing ability to search etc.
I am now fully armed with a great knowledge of this wonderful city - I know where I am going to be eating, I know where I am going to be staying and I know where there is live music Manchester as well - good old internet!
If you are looking to locate the essential information about a specific city then the world wide web is likely to provide you with the answers - it certainly helped me to find what I was looking for, as described above and I am sure it will for you as well - Good luck!
American Happily Living In Cebu February 4, 2012
Posted by janey in : travel general , comments closedCebu Philippines is where I have been living for the last four years. Soon, I will mark my fourth anniversary in the Philippines. I did not know what was in store for me here in the Philippines however, I came with skeptical but open mind. After four years, I am comfortable living in the Philippines The new has worn off and I’m still glad to be living in the Philippines.
By moving to the Philippines, I have expanded my choices in life. Two reasons explain most of this. My cost of living is a lot less here than it was back in the USA. The second is at 49 when I first arrived, my dating choices where limited in the USA. I was 49 years old, not in the best health and my good looks long ago got up and left. Plus, I was almost poor in the USA. Having the cash to date would be hard to come by. I often say that I’d be too broke to breath.
In the Philippines, I’m not rich by American standards but the average Filipino would think I’m rich. With my cost of living greatly reduced I am able to travel more. I should mention that the cost of travel in the Philippines is much lower than I experienced back in the States. Lodging, in most cases, cost me less than $30 a night. The last air fare I purchased was $75 for a round trip ticket! Sometimes you can get them for as little as one dollar or even free. However, you will still have to pay surcharges and taxes.
I have a pretty Filipina as my girlfriend. When I put boots on the ground she was 29 years old and we are still together. She is caring and loving and takes such good care of me that it sometimes makes me feel guilty. For example, next week she will be riding a bus for six hours to run errands for me. She often puts her own best interest behind my own needs. I have to be careful not to take advantage of her. My chance of finding a romantic interest in the USA equal to this are null.
Bantayan Island is the place I like to visit the most. In fact, it is my favorite place in the world. It is only about 2 hours from my home. If you visit there you will find powered white sane beaches with the clearest water you’ve even seen. The best part of this there is usually almost no tourist there. However, during Holy Week that changes and you will find the beaches and resorts crowded
Palawan is also a grand place to visit. I went there last July and visited the Underground River. The river enters a cave under a mountain and is the longest such river in the world. It is now one of the New Seven Wonders of The World. I also visited Estrella Falls and we had lunch there. While eating, instead of squirrels playing in the trees, we had monkeys trying to steal our food. The monkeys were a hoot and were very unfriendly when I tried to hand feed them. I rescued a monkey and have her at my home. She would have loved my offering.
I hope you’ll visit my website, you will be able to read about many more of my adventures in the Philippines. If you’re thinking of living overseas, it will help you determine if Cebu is the right place for you. You can visit Cebu Experience by visiting this link: Living in The Philippines
