Hampshire & Dorset Holiday Cottages March 28, 2009
Posted by janey in : holiday homes , trackbackA vacation in the countryside can be the perfect way to relax and to spend some time with your loved ones. I remember staying at some Holiday Cottages in Hampshire when I was a child and also some in Dorset and they were always a good way to recharge.
The holiday cottages in Hampshire were set in a beautiful rural setting, where we could visit local tourist attractions. We were also situated close to the cities of Portsmouth and Southampton so we could go shopping and visit the docks if we wished to do so. The countryside holiday cottage in Hampshire was a period property that had been restored by some specialist conservation builders in Somerset. I have to admit that they did an excellent job repairing the cottage to it’s original form and this made are stay even more enjoyable as we would often sit in front of the window and play board games.
The self catering holiday cottages in Dorset we had were located just outside of Poole, which allowed us to go to all the local tourist attractions that can be found in the region. This meant we got to have great days out at places like Monkey World, Moors Valley Country Park and we took a trip to see the Cerne Abbas Giant.
The Dorset Cottages was very different to the holiday cottages in Hampshire. It was still a traditional cottage but it had more modern facilities as it wasn’t confined by the same listed building laws as the one in Hampshire. Dorset is a southern home county that has a good mix of modern towns and business areas, whilst also retaining some of its countryside mystery with its beautiful beaches and villages. Staying in Dorset cottages can be very rewarding for people of all ages; the beach provides a great experience for all, allowing a mix of relaxation with plenty of entertainment for kids of all ages.
