Tour the Christmas Candlelight Walk in Augusta - Augusta, Missouri April 16, 2009

Nearly 1,000 luminaries light your path throughout Historic Augusta, Missouri the first two Friday evenings of December between five to 10 PM. The annual attraction has more than a 25 year history and has grown into a tradition for the entire community to host. A free Trolley Shuttle will carry you through town to tour the many shops and vintage stores, wineries and brewers, diners and food stands, discover unique art including hand-blown glass, paintings, and jewelry.

The area churches can help move you in the holiday cheer with Christmas caroling and encourage you to join along or simply listen in the church sanctuary with a giant Christmas tree. The city square can boost your holiday cheer with a horse drawn sleigh ride around the center of town, a warm bon fire with Chestnuts roasting and marshmallows toasting, and Santa Claus waiting to listen to you Christmas wishes.

The holiday enthusiast may appreciate the excitement of our Holiday Scavenger Hunt with a Christmas quiz and an evening awash with gathering items from all the shops. You can turn your answers to our History Museum and enter for gifts from our area merchants.

Everyone can simply relax by listening to a band at Mount Pleasant Winery with a glass of wine; enjoy the evening at dinner accompanying friends at Café Bella, Augusta Brewing Company, Ashley’s Rose or Balducci’s; receive a therapeutic massage at Halcyon or you can shop till you drop at a various of specialty shops and antique stores - a great northeast Missouri tourism.

Enjoy the holiday season in Augusta, Missouri on either of the first two Fridays of December with our Annual Candlelight Christmas Walk. The Greater Augusta Chamber of Commerce sponsors this event annually and visitors will feel the Christmas spirit throughout the village.
