Holiday Review: Bournemouth And Poole August 16, 2009

I latterly came home from a one weeks holiday in Dorset. I had resolved that rather than relaxing on the beaches of the Costa Del Sol, I would keep our money, take a chance with the English weather conditions and travel to the enjoyable beaches of Bournemouth.

It would seem that I wasn’t the only one as Bournemouth beach was packed and with all the things the region has to offer, it is no surprise.

Bournemouth and Poole are really interesting areas of Dorset to see but the area has so much more to give. There were a wide variety of attractions and sites to see.

My choice of the assorted tourist sights is definatly Monkey World, Tower Park and Bournemouth beach. I had such a pleasant time at all these places and would highly commend them to people.

This was one of the reasons I resolved that my family and I would rent in a Dorset holiday cottage rather than a hotel. This meant we were able to stay in a house where we felt snug and free to do what we want.

The property was also a pleasant base from which we were able trip to the localized tourist sights easily. We were fortunate enough that our country holiday cottage was placed less then 30minutes away from many of these areas.

The country cottage we stayed in was adjacent to a country public house that we regularly attended, where we struck up a friendship with the landlord and his wife.

We found out from the pub landlord that Dorset cottages were extremely popular in the region and that he regularly met travellers like us that stay in them. If you are considering of going on holiday in Dorset then I would recommend staying in holiday cottages Dorset. The welcome you will encounter from the locals is great, it is much cost effective than a trip afield and you will leave feeling laid-back and invigorated.
